Bring It On (Blu Ray)


Well, here we are folks.  This movie released on blu ray, thus setting off a chain of events my amazon "recommended items" wouldn't see coming for miles.  Yes the lady friend protested that it was and I quote "It's not really that bad"  So we watched it.  Here is what I think about it.

To start with, frankly it really is not that bad.  It falls more into the realm of a 90's high school teen movie than a shitty, girly, stupid, shallow, witless movie.  I don't really want to go into the story but I guess I should. 

Ok, so the story is basic.  One cheer leading squad is made up of rich kid white girls.  They have won every year, and the torch is being passed from the former captain to new captain.  their world turns upside down when the new girl from "L.A." tells her that her shitty routine is a stollen shitty routine.  She does this by taking her ass to Compton!  Insert cheer leader squad B.  It comes out that the former cheer leading captain was going to Compton to steal cheers.  That's about it.  They have a cheer leading competition.  They come in second place with their all new routine.  The Compton girls win.  Yay!

Side note, the cheers are actually pretty clever.

Powerman 5000: Builder of the Future

  Powerman 5000 is one of those bands that really isn't that great.  Which don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan.  The problem is they really only have two listenable albums.  First is of course, "Tonight the Stars Revolt" which is their best. (if you'd like to see a review of that album let me know) Lastly their new album is their second best.  Here's the thing though.  I don't love this album, but I find myself throwing it on all the time.  Its a refreshing twist for them.  You get kind of the best of both worlds that is Powerman 5000.  You get this electronic robot sound, and you also get the crunchy guitars and the almost pop punky rhythms.   The album is much softer (less metalish) than "Tonight the Stars Revolt".  This however isn't a big deal.  So lets begin. Volbeat Seal the Deal

  I'm not going to write a huge review of this album.  Also, know that I was a huge Volbeat fan for a long time. With that said, this album is fucking terrible.  I thought this was going to happen to see as the last album was on the softer side but still had redeeming qualities.  This new album is a product of shit.  It is not heavy and when the thrash guitar starts it is on a higher chord and it is akin to 80s hair metal more than modern metal. This album is one pop/rock piece of shit after another.  His vocals are clean and whiny and frankly previewing the album hurt. Politics

So, I know this blog is centered around entertainment but the human nerd in me needs to speak.  My first question is when did Facebook become the almighty wizard of politics?  Why is it that some dumb article gets posted and then re posted and re posted and eaten up by these dumb fucking people who have no actual real opinion.  I hate that its acceptable to hate or love a political party because its popular.  Then when you call these people out they have nothing.  No actual reasoning for saying the shit they say, just because they can.   Facebook is trash, if yo get your news from Facebook go kill yourself, and enjoy your job at (insert fast food place here) .  I suppose at the core what im trying to say is open your eyes!  Stop being an idiot.  No matter what side you're on you're wrong.  Why do I say this?  Well, its become acceptable to chastise people for their beliefs.  You have no Idea how many dumb fucking people po...
