An ode to Diablo 3
OK, so the reason I'm not calling this a review is because frankly I haven't beaten it. I will say that im in love. I love it so much that when I am done writing this I'm gonna go play it, even though I have Metro Redux sitting there begging me to pick it up. It wants my attention, but even now....I only think of dungeons and blood. Believe me you get plenty of both. If you have never played D3 on the PC or have lived in an undiscovered tribe for the past twenty years, D3 is a top down dungeon crawl. On the PC it was a bit of a chore to play. I had grown so used to using a game pad, I had forgotten how uncomfortable keyboard and mouse gaming is. This package fixes my woes.
The Ps4 version from what I can tell looks exactly like D3 on PC at max settings. Not only that, but it runs at a silky smooth 60 a second, with very few instances of frame dropping. This game should have had controller support from the very beginning! It makes it play like an arcade game. Imagine the best parts of Diablo mixed with gauntlet. That gives you a bit of an idea of what D3 is about.
I haven't even gotten into the reaper of souls expansion portion yet, but believe me I'm working up to it. There is one problem with this game. It includes time travel. The only time I have ever lost so much time without recollection is when I blacked out and woke up at home after some night drinking. I played Saturday for 4 hours straight before even realizing the sun had changed positions. Its the type of game you think about at work, in the bathroom, while playing other fucking games!
In short, its one game that wont be put on my shelf soon. I have to fit metro in at some point but right now, I'm enjoying hacking away...
