I am Loving Starfield               I am Loving Starfield      First and foremost let's be clear, this isn't a  review .  This  is  me, little  ole   Nerdattude .  Trying to figure out why, despite the technical bugs, the questionable design decisions, and the straight-up tone-deaf development team comments, I still love Starfield. The  truth   is  I am loving my  time  with Starfield.  The  game  is  full  of  things  to  do  and has  become  one of the first  games  in a  while  to completely capture my  attention .  Would I  say  Starfield is revolutionary?  No. Do comments from the Dev team stating "We could have produced a bug-free game" piss me off?  Affirmative.  Even with the surroun...

Volbeat Seal the Deal

Image
I'm not going to write a huge review of this album.  Also, know that I was a huge Volbeat fan for a long time. With that said, this album is fucking terrible.  I thought this was going to happen to see as the last album was on the softer side but still had redeeming qualities.  This new album is a product of shit.  It is not heavy and when the thrash guitar starts it is on a higher chord and it is akin to 80s hair metal more than modern metal. This album is one pop/rock piece of shit after another.  His vocals are clean and whiny and frankly previewing the album hurt. A band I've enjoyed for so long making a fucking Fallout Boy album.  Ugh, what a disgrace.  This album appeals to women, not men.  It's soft and fragile like a painful shit you took an hour ago.  It just floats there among the wreckage wondering what it could have been.  I won't review each track because frankly, I don't want to listen to the album enough to ri...

DOOM

Image
I know the game has been out and I haven't posted shit for a while.  Well Doom is exceptional and deems a short but sweet review.  Enjoy. Finally Doom hits next Gens and PC.  On my Birthday no less!  Doom at its core is a simple adventure were you find door keys and discover the secrets behind this research base on Mars.  Oh and along the way you wreck everything!  There isn't a single moment where I was blood thirsty through out the roughly ten hour campaign. You start on a medical table about to be prodded by demons.  Well we cant have that.  With a Undertaker like sit up and a quick face smash you have a pistol and you're on your way to dispatch hundreds of angry demons.  (are there happy demons?)  This pretty much sums up the beginning.  Which in all honestly is the only part of the game I was left unfulfilled with.  No real back story or cut scene or animated or any sort of intro!  Just wake up and murder...

Far Cry 4

Image
So Far Cry 3 was one of my favorite games of last year.  The open world, the beautiful landscape, the brutal combat, it was just a really well done game.  Well with Far Cry 4 you get all of that same amazing stuff but with more beauty and more ways to attack objectives.  Unfortunately it sometimes feels like you are treading familiar ground.  This normally wouldn't be an issue considering the game is amazing.  The issue is that this holiday season there was a ton of games launched at the same time and frankly my mind wanders more to my collection.  Ive spent pretty decent amounts of sitting time with FC4 and almost every time I eventually just want to stop and play something else. First off the story is weak.  You are the chosen son returned to the land to free the people of the Kryat.  (all you wanted to do was spread your mothers ashes)  Kryat has been taken over by a leader known as Pagan.  He is by far the greatest part of ...

GTA V Remastered

Image
Alright, I'm going to be honest here and make this review nice and short.  I want you to imagine as if you and I are having a discussion rather than you simply reading a review.  The discussion in your mind should go a little something like this. Me:  Hey you played GTA V on x360 right? You:  Of course I did, it was a great experience. Me:  Sweet, well the remaster is the same amazing over the top game as before.  It just looks as amazing as it plays now.  High end texture mapping everywhere!  Dynamic weather system really shines now.  The rain is immaculate.  The already stellar draw distance is made better by having more detail. You: Did they add anything new? Me: Don't interrupt me, that's really fucking rude man.... You:   ...... Me: Oh and they added several new camera settings, including the ability to play first person!  Higher Traffic Density, More people on the streets to murder.  They ...

Metro 2033 Redux

Image
I sit here, a little buzzed listening to my friend constantly restart the beginning of this game.  He is going after an achievement he remembers from the Xbox 360 play through.  This disgusts me.  Not because its frustrating to watch the same five minutes over and over.  Not because I find it to be OCD and perhaps, obsessive?  No, none of those actually.  I'm most disgusted at the fact that he is holding himself back from exploring the metro in full detail.  This version is even better than the PC version. For starters.  It works.... The PC version of Metro 2033 while great looking and of course fun to play,  ran like shit.  Even on high end machines it ran poorly.  The new PS4 version rectifies any issue I've ever had with the Metro series.  For starters, the overhaul.  While it isn't true "Next Gen" it looks fucking great.  Obviously the best looking version of the game you can pick up....

Diablo 3 (Review)

Image
"I've been playing for 3 days straight" Yes, so I finally have completed D3!  Wait...have I really?  Did I really "complete" it?....No I don't think I have.  I mean I have beaten the campaign....I've finished the adventure, surely I'm done.  No, no I'm not.  There is so much more to discover and do. Dungeons, demons, fucking six characters!  NO I HAVE NOT COMPLETED THIS FUCKING GAME!  I have however enjoyed the hell out of it.  I have spent lost hours deep in the dungeons of hell and beyond.  Ive climbed towers full of the dead all while raining down thunder storms onto my enemies.  These are just some of the very many encounters I've had in D3.  There really isn't m...
