Max Payne 3

Oddly enough this review can be virtually summed up with two words.  Max Payne!  Formally a Remedy product Max Payne has had a nine year hiatus.  Rock Star has now taken the reigns and used their excellent development staff to create a wonderful if not simple title. Max Payne 3 drops you into a new more emotional Max.  By day he drinks himself to a fuzz and by night he eats painkillers to numb himself.  Still not over the events of the first game  he is now a full blown alcoholic.  This time He is in Brazil doing security gigs for the wealthy Bronco family.  Unfortunately for max its not as simple as booze babes and well booze.  I want to stress this Max is always getting his ass kicked.  As the game and story progress we switch back and forth from present to past explaining how max ended up in Brazil, why he no longer resides in New York, and how he met his new friend Passos.  The big thing about max payne besides the narrative is the game play.  Rock Star was smart in the fact that they kept game play true to form.(with a new cover mechanic)  Max Payne keeps its simple run and gun game play, at points its a little simple but its always a lot of fun.  The new cover mechanic comes in handy, whether it be firing blind (a lot of fun) or using it to not die (not the easiest game) its always consistent and reliable.  Now to the newest part of The Max Payne Chronicles Multi player.  Ill outline the multi player by mode. 

Payne Killer-  This mode puts you in the position of Max Payne or People trying to kill Max.  If you're Max you have to run and gun and survive everyone trying to kill you.  If you die the player who killed you becomes max.  Its a lot of fun mostly if you're Max.  Hes more powerful and less prone to death than you are.  This mode is fun especially when you're Max.

Gang Wars-  Gang wars is the objective based mode.  Things like arming a bomb or defusing it, picking up packages and delivering them.  The multi player as of now is a little clunk in this mode.  Grenades take to long to throw the pick up/arm or defuse bomb mechanics don't work entirely well and melee is far overpowered.  My least favorite mode more because of clunky controls than the actual mode.

The other two modes are simple Team deathmatch and Deathmatch.  The standards offer up to 8 people at at time playing together.  There are Large Deathmatch and Large Team Deathmatch as well, the modes allow up to 16 people.  The very last are Hardcore Variations of deathmatch.  Unless you plan on pumping a lot of time into MP3 dont expect to play hardcore.  Before its unlock you must get 5000 kills.(WTF) I myself haven't unlocked it yet probably wont but either way if you are a fan you'll enjoy it.

Overall Max Payne 3 Is a great third person shooter with beautiful set pieces and great cinematics and a healthy amount of gore.  For Max fans its a glorious tribute to one of gaming's darkest characters.  For new comers it may be a little simple.  Either way Play it any way you can you wont regret it.

Powerman 5000: Builder of the Future

  Powerman 5000 is one of those bands that really isn't that great.  Which don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan.  The problem is they really only have two listenable albums.  First is of course, "Tonight the Stars Revolt" which is their best. Volbeat Seal the Deal

  I'm not going to write a huge review of this album.  Also, know that I was a huge Volbeat fan for a long time. With that said, this album is fucking terrible.  I thought this was going to happen to see as the last album was on the softer side but still had redeeming qualities.  This new album is a product of shit.  It is not heavy and when the thrash guitar starts it is on a higher chord and it is akin to 80s hair metal more than modern metal. This album is one pop/rock piece of shit after another.  His vocals are clean and whiny and frankly previewing the album hurt. A band I've enjoyed for so long making a fucking Fallout Boy album.  Ugh, what a disgrace.  This album appeals to women, not men.  It's soft and fragile like a painful shit you took an hour ago.  It just floats there among the wreckage wondering what it could have been.  I won't review each track because frankly, I don't want to listen to the album enough to ri...

Politics

So, I know this blog is centered around entertainment but the human nerd in me needs to speak.  My first question is when did Facebook become the almighty wizard of politics?  Why is it that some dumb article gets posted and then re posted and re posted and eaten up by these dumb fucking people who have no actual real opinion.  I hate that its acceptable to hate or love a political party because its popular.  Then when you call these people out they have nothing.  No actual reasoning for saying the shit they say, just because they can.   Facebook is trash, if yo get your news from Facebook go kill yourself, and enjoy your job at (insert fast food place here) .  I suppose at the core what im trying to say is open your eyes!  Stop being an idiot.  No matter what side you're on you're wrong.  Why do I say this?  Well, its become acceptable to chastise people for their beliefs.  You have no Idea how many dumb fucking people po...
