Demon Hunter-True Defiance

Demon Hunter's sixth studio album comes out strong slows down towards end.

For many fans of Demon Hunter liking this album will most like be determined on what style of demon hunter you enjoy.  Being a fan of the original album more that the others I'm only half entertained by this album.

The first four tracks in my opinion are the best.  Crucifix, god forsaken, My destiny, and wake are all driven by the metal anger that christian bands have.  Rather than speaking about sex, drugs, and Rock N' Roll Demon Hunter speaks on more serious subjects.

Crucifix- is a sobering song about the greed, and ungodliness in the world.  A strong song however its a bit preacher (especially if you're not religious)

God Forsaken-Same dark tone as crucifix except more personal, this song is more melodic.its more about inner struggle than general society shit.

My Destiny- This song has a solid double bass beat throughout.  The main verses have a very screamo punch you in the face vibe however the chorus have a more melodic feel.  Another song about inner struggle but to be honest after 5 Cd's are you really that torn up?

Wake- Easily my favorite song on the album.  The music is solid with a melodic almost haunting tone to his vocals.  This is more of a cautionary tale, much like crucifix.  Essentially we all need to wake up and stop following "the mass to an endless grave"  is the grave hell?  Beats me.  The song is well executed and put together.

Tomorrow Never Comes-  A slow track, more of a ballad.  There is nothing wrong with this song its just to slow.  Ive fallen asleep 3 times listening to this track.

Someone To Hate-  This is a very strong song both musically and lyrically.  Written as though by the right hand of god I assume he speaks as though he as at war, it seems the society to which he hates has become the target once again.  My issue with this song is there isn't much style to it.  Its more or less a punch to the balls which when done right is great, this song is executed only decently.

This I Know- I like this song quite a bit my only real complaint is it sounds a little new metalish

Means To An End- This an instrumental piece which I really enjoyed, mostly due to the fact that it sounds like an old school metallic intro

We Don't Care- Another really good track.  It does seem that they have taken a page from "messasugah"

Resistance- By this track it seems that they need to slow down a little but it doesn't make it a bad track its just a little disturbish

Dead Flowers- Over dramatic and slow, also its a ballad

Overall i enjoyed the CD for the most part it just feels like that towards the end they ran out of steam
